This is in the Anamalai hills. This has a large number of crocodiles in it. There are many other places like Karainshola, Anaikurthi Shola, grass hills, water falls, groves of coconut and palm, teak forests, tea estates, dams and reservoirs that have to be visited.
This is a multipurpose project mainly serves for the irrigation of the cultivated land area. The water from the rivers such as Parambikulam, Aliyar, Nirar, Sholiyar, Thunakadaru, Thekkadi and palar flow into this multipurpose project which supplies water for the lands and for power generation too.

Siruvani Waterfalls and the dam named after them are located 37 km west of Coimbatore in the Western Ghats; the road to the falls leads past the historical villages of Perur, Mathampatty and Alandurai. Water from Siruvani river is renowned for its taste and mineral properties, and the view from the falls and the dam is a great tourist attraction.[1][2] It is one of the main water sources of Coimbatore city.

The falls are 6 km from Karunya University. Sadivayal Checkpost, where an entry fee is charged, is the gateway to the waterfalls.

Kovai Kuttralam is a lovely place to visit in the season, between June - November. The place is within the reserve forest region, you need to walk 4 kms to reach the falls. The force of water depends on the monsoon rains. The forest adjacent to this falls are full of wild animals such as Elephants, Leopards, Panthers. The forest officials vacate the place of visitors before 5:00 PM. There are incidents of people trampled by Elephants in this region. Also the Water falls are very dangerous and adventurous in the upper region. It is mostly safe in the down, where cement blocks are constructed for safety.

Vaideki Falls is a waterfall situated in Coimbatore District about 35 km from Coimbatore City. The nearest town is Narisipuram.The falls is very beautiful and has a naturally formed slope where one can glide in as in water theme parks. It is located inside the forest and its better obtain permission before entering the forest, nevertheless you can go. This area of forest has lot of animal movements; especially elephants. There are lot of incidents of elephants attacking humans, so it is always advisable to obtain permission and get some guards accompanying while entering the forest. The ambiance and atmosphere inside the forest is worth the few kilometers' trek into the forest.
